Sailing with Manta

Storage room in the boat is minimal and we store the sails at home. It takes just ten minutes to bend the sails to the spars. There is a low bridge on the way out from our home port, so we have to tip the mast anyway.

Manta doesn't tack very high, at its best approx. 30 degrees to the wind, so we have to use the motor more often than we should. Although "the sailer reaches his destination when he leaves the quay", getting home is nice too...

The boat is very seaworthy, but using the motor is very wet. The boat is built like old sailboats and the hull is more suitable for sailing than motoring. It's hard to keep dry if you have to go to hard headwind.
